The latest mobile phones you would love to purchase

The last few months have witnessed the launch of many a handsets in UK. There have been additions in camera phones, music phones, multimedia phones and so on. Here's a round-up (a difficult exercise indeed these days) on the latest mobile phones which have been grabbing headlines...

Camera phones- within shooting distance

The year started with much awaited Nokia N95 with a 5-megapixel camera. Expected to come out in February, it was possibly the biggest news in the market till news of Samsung launching a 10-MP camera outdid it. In the mean while there have been a regular extension in the camera phone family size with Sony Ericsson K750i, Samsung E880, LG's KG920, Nokia N73 and N93 and the SL91 from BenQ-Siemens constantly hogging the limelight.

Music phones- the strumming gizmos

Last year Nokia brought the budgeted version of music phone the Nokia 2626. The music editions of its all popular models and the Nokia N91 8GB has created ripples in the market. The Walkman series of Sony Ericsson has become more richer with the entry of W810, W900 and W950. The chocolate music phone and LG U890 have delighted music lovers, no end.

Designer phones- the muses

Looks sell...and the manufacturers have realized it. From Nokia's L'Amour collection, Sirocco edition to LG chocolate and Sony Ericsson Black diamond, the form factor in mobile phones got revolutionized. Slider, clamshell and flip open design with appealing colours are launched. Smooth surfaces and perfectly edged curves with metallic finishes- the mobile market is getting hotter and hotter.

Multimedia phones- the infotainers

Nokia's N 80 took off to a flyer and the rest followed. Targeting the music, TV, information seeking netizens, the mobile market saw Sony Ericsson W950i, Samsung Black Jack and T-mobile SDA. The makers of Blackberry mobile phones too have added entertaining features in Blackberry Pearl8100 to help you get access to entertainment everywhere.

The list gets longer and longer with each new rumour and press releases(these days called Leaked PR's). I'm off to gather some more news...till then HAPPY SHOPPING!
